Gulumbu Yunupingu's memorial poles NATSIAA entryChildhood Memories Continue to Inspire Artist - 7 August

Acclaimed Yolgnu artist Gulumbu Yunupingu’s entry in this year’s 25th Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award, Garak the Universe, continues on with her universal theme, which is inspired by childhood memories of her father’s night time stories at the family camp of the seven sisters and other ancient mythologies. Artist in Residence Program Begins at AraluenArtist in Residence Program Begins at Araluen - 21 July
A new ‘Artists in Residence’ portal is now operating at the Northern Territory Government’s Araluen Arts Centre. Director of the Alice Springs Cultural Precinct, Tim Rollason, said the first artist in residence is local artist Dayananda, who specialises in jewellery made from crystals and has established the Maid in Earth Studio, in the Araluen Arts Centre foyer.
